Tonight was Stake Standards Night for our Youth . Here in GR - instead of bringing in speakers or a musical or such ... they put on their own productions!! Garrett started participating last year & they include anyone 12-18 who wants to participate! This year was awesome as they had several kids participate who were of other faiths too!! It was a great experience for them all!
Garrett was the only one who ended up with a complete solo - no back-up dancers (I know he was a little bummed that he didn't get a slew of cute girls to dance behind him!!), back-up singers, or choir either!! All alone & he did a great job! I was so proud of him!! He is to a stage where he likes to keep things a secret & work on them alone (& not show us), then we have to wait for the big "debut. "All the kids did amazing!! It was a wonderful production!! A good friend of ours put the production together for the youth & had many talented & amazing people help him. With about 6-7 practices they tossed it together & it turned out amazing!!
Here is a clip of Garrett singing part of his song & a another one of him & a group of boys that did a number together. My amazing mother-in-law Played many wonderful pieces for the show tonight on the piano. At one point I had to look over & see where the music was coming from as it sounded like an awesome recording & nope ... it was Mom!!! Great job to all!!! We loved the show!!
My Mom & Dad, Allison (Dave's sister), & Darren, Emily & their kids were all able to come tonight!! Thanks!!(I know Garrett felt like a star!)
What a fun & neat experience for all!!
