Just wanted to give a shout out to Garrett - WE ARE SO PROUD OF ALL THE HARD WORK YOU HAVE BEEN DOING IN YOUR SCHOOL WORK!! And in the many activities you participate in!!
I am going through our mail from the weekend & just received his revised PAWS test scores for 6th grade... He of course tested in the Advanced areas in all subjects. I decided to tally how many question he missed out of all of them & he missed a whole 7 questions out of 125 & "aced" the writing section & received 4's in all (6) categories in writing.
The average student (In WY) scores in the 600's - 663's on these tests & Garrett was able to score in the 747's - 829's & the tests top out between 800 - 975. WOW - I don't know what to say!! It always excites me to watch & see what he comes up with next!!
He is really enjoying middle school this year & is so happy. He has struggled with school for many, many years. We are lucky that instead of being a discipline problem he has always become the teacher's assistant (which has had it's pros & cons!) He has tested in the 10th grade level since he was in the 2nd grade & started testing at the 11th grade level in 4th grade! So we have struggled yearly to find "challenge" for him but also "balance" & of course have gone the routes to make sure "No child left behind" would ensure him a challenging/at skill level education... which hasn't quite worked for him!! (Neither had pushing him ahead 1 or 2 grade levels.)

A shout out for Garrett!! We are proud of your hard work!!
We are so grateful for several teachers who have really tried to help & encourage him, many have given him opportunities to go to the computer labs, to learn new things, & more about technology, or participate in other activities that would give him leadership opportunities, he has also had several teachers encourage him to participate in several competitions where he has continued to place in the top 2 places up to the State level. He has continued to participate in the G.A.T.E. program along with sports, piano, scouts, & other activities!! We are so grateful for all those who have played such a supportive role in his life!! I am most grateful that he has been so willing to continue to learn, especially when sometimes it meant doing it on his own - outside of the classroom!
We continue to be amazed at all he accomplishes & does - We are so proud of you Garrett & for all the hard work you do!! Keep it up & remember "You can be/do anything you set your mind to!!" Loves ~ Mom
