We were very lucky this weekend as Dave needed to go to Burley, ID to do an audit for work. So we decided to take advantage of the trip & go along so we could continue on & make a trip over to visit my Grandma Reynolds. We haven't been able to travel to see her since the boys were just little. Probably Garrett was 4 & Tyler was 2... so it has been way too long & we thought it would be fun to run over & visit her all together!!
Burley, ID isn't all that to brag about.. we got in trouble for bringing our bags in to loud & got a call from the front desk saying we sounded like a bowling alley??? WHAT? & that our kids must be jumping off the beds?? WHAT??? (We were so mad!) Anyway... we enjoyed watching the mens beach volley ball tourney... that was awesome!! The next morning we enjoyed the cont. breakfast & I took the kids swimming!! After Dave's audit was finished we grabbed a bite to eat & headed off to Grandma's place.
We had a lot of fun & we could tell Grandma was so excited to have us!! We went out to a Chinese Buffet the first night when we arrive & the kids loved the dessert bar!! IT was yummy!
Then Sat. it was Tyler's Birthday, so we went to the rec. center swimming & enjoyed the time together. Then Grandma ordered Tyler a birthday cake & prepared a fancy spaghetti dinner for us. My Aunt Noreen & cousin Morgan came for dinner! It was so nice to see them again! I have so many fond childhood memories with them! It really seemed like nothing had changed (except we had all aged quite a bit - darn!)
We had a good time watching the Olympics when we could as we hadn't seen much of it up to that point. One night while watching, Madison was bound & determined that we would put together this 100 pc puzzle my Grandma had since I was probably born. We didn't even know if all the pcs. were in the box! Well, we did it & it was all there (w/no help from Madi)!! Then Tyler enjoyed it so much he put it together again the next day!
I finally convinced Madison it was time to pull her very loose front tooth out, that was just making her miserable. She works herself up pretty well, but as soon as it is out - she is SO HAPPY! Cause then she can eat & talk without pain. Her poor gums were just bright purple!! As soon as the tooth came out she was able to eat again!! Tooth #5... & #6 is only about a week away. (She is going to be wishing for her front teeth for Christmas!)
We had a really good time visiting my Grandma (my only one still alive). The only Great Grandma my children still have alive. We really wish she was closer so we could visit her more often... the kids mentioned to her that she needed to move closer... she didn't like that idea as she knows how cold it can get around here!! Grandma begged & pleaded for Dave to stay behind & offered him anything if he would stay!! (He knew exactly how to get to her heart... a couple batches of dishes does the trick!!)
