Oh, the joys of moving!! I am the meanest mom, but these are things that have to be done!! The children were all recruited to to carry the gallons of water out of the food storage room (downstairs) & take them outside & water all the upcoming tulips & plants that we will miss in the yard!!
I am so proud of them... the 2 little ones tried so hard & after about 30 minutes they lost interest, but kept coming back after little breaks here & there.
Here is Brady's 1st bottle of water he carried up all by himself & is waiting for help to loosen the lid so he could go water with it. In the end he learned that carrying the empty bottles back into the house & putting their lids on was the best job for him!! But he did continue to try to do it all - just like the big boys!!
Then Madison... she was so big & could do it all herself & felt so accomplished...but found that swinging & singing on the swings was much more enjoyable after about 10-12 bottles!
Tyler wanted to start a water fight pretty soon after his 1st or 2nd bottle!! "Our mom is wasting our day... I am so sad, someone please come save us from this misery!!"Garrett is not to happy here... in the back of his mind he is yelling "Slave driver" at me!! This is the most boring thing you can do on a Saturday... considering I was just laying on the floor playing Polly pockets w/my sister & watching Tom & Jerry!! In the end he was my hero when everyone was exhausted from being so overworked. Garrett finished emptying the 2000nth bottle of water!!!
(Made me feel good to know we did have so much water stored... you start to wonder how far it would go if you had an emergency!) When all was said & done we had these 8 boxes of gallon containers filled - I am sure the friends & family who come help us move will be grateful to move the 8 boxes, compared to an estimated 120 gallons of water!
Thanks kids!! You are the best!!! (Wait till we get to the new house & I fill them all back up & you can load them back to the storage room!!!)
We thought we would celebrate & go to the Musical "Carousel" at the college after a hard days work last night... Well, we are sad to say - we were greatly disappointed in the foul language that was used throughout the show! It sure brought a different feeling/light to the show. We always enjoy going to the musicals & taking the kids.... but were sad & contemplated leaving at intermission.
The actors, singers, & dancers are all very talented & we realize they work so hard to put on these productions. We realize even more how spoiled we are to have such a great & talented director in our area at this time who has produced some amazing shows over the years he has been here!! We can't wait till this summer to work with him again!! (Fiddler on the Roof Jr.)
Anyway... that is it for our weekend... full & exciting. We feel a little weird that there are only 10 days left till the move!!! Never thought it would come!!! Wow!! It is just around the corner!!

The joys of moving! It's only a few weeks out of your life and then, life goes on.. That's so nice that they are old enough to help!
