Wow - what a weekend we have had! Started out with a house inspection & it was very intense. I am glad one more thing is done & ready for us to sell our home. It went great & all we were told is that our home was one of the first this inspector has seen in a long time in such top condition! (So it pays off if you keep up on all the small little things as they happen!) He said - I had 2 things of concern listed on my "BIG Pad of paper" (which he didn't show to me) & usually on a home inspection on this age of home - my pad is 3/4 full of items that are alarming to me!! (So whew!!) We will just wait to see what the buyer says!!
We all had Friday off (almost didn't know what to do with ourselves!)- so after a couple hours of everyone picking on each other & going crazy from being inside, I decided that we would all stop what we were doing & run out to a movie matinée together. We had heard our local theater received Horton hears a who... so, why not! We had a great time getting out of the house & I honestly think that was the first time we have been to a movie all together at one time as a family since we have lived here!! It was a great family activity!! We ate more popcorn & pop than our tummies could hold!!
Then we decided to run to RS to see if any auto dealers were willing to make a deal yet as we have been shopping around to find something that will be nicer on the gas bill than the "Burb".... frustrated to say the least with the customer service in our area... we were trying to figure out when our next chance would be to make a trip out of town to do some more looking since it didn't seem that anyone wanted to work with us... just before leaving Dave mentioned our Honda dealer... Lo & behold some good friends of ours, their son works there & he is just adorable!! Amazing customer service!! Of course he wanted to sell us a car & was more than willing to run to any neighboring dealer & get the color & style we wanted if he didn't have it!! Well his personality & customer service shined through as people were actually lined up waiting to work with him!! So we had fun test driving his Honda's, (They are amazing!! I haven't ever driven one before now & I highly recommend them!! - They didn't even compare to the other vehicles we had driven up to this point!!) BUT at this point, we just didn't know if we could get them to come down to our price range.
So of course you can't go home on a empty stomach!! So we stopped in at our favorite Chinese Buffet & had dinner!! (I guess it is our spring break - so we should have a little fun - as we didn't get to actually go anywhere or do anything else!)
Well today we had a great day as Grandpa Y. & dad spent the day cooking dutch oven chicken & potatoes for lunch!! Oh, it was the BEST we have ever had!! Many of our cousins got to come to town - so we had fun running, & playing
with all of them too! Then Grandma Y. put on her traditional Easter Hunt for the kids!! They had a great time. One of the prizes found on the hunt were kites!! Who would have known? The oldest 4-5 boys got kites & everyone coveted the kites!! So
thanks to Garrett many of the young ones got to assist Garrett in flying his kite!! They were so fun! We are going to have to buy a few more & start flying kites as a family! The kids literally walked & the kites jumped off the ground & were in the sky!! Had we not all been freezing in our
beautiful "spring" weather we probably would have flown kites all day, but called it quits when we were just past purple & ran back to Grandpa & Grandma's for Lunch!! Oh it was YUMMY!!!
Well after we were done visiting & all - of
course our Honda dealer was ready to make us some offers & wheel n' deal!! So we ran over & did some more test driving. After waiting our turn in line to work with Jon (I think he sold at least 3 other vehicles while we were there!)....... they were able to work the price down into our range & we are the proud new owners of this beauty!!! (We love it!! It is an amazing little thing... I really don't care much about vehicles... but I am sure we will like this one for a LONG time!) I will miss the Suburban as it is so big & safe.... but this will save a lot on gas as we travel around with our kids!! :)
Tonight we returned home to color Easter eggs. (This isn't one of my most favorite things to do as a parent... but it was always a (major) tradition growing up in my family & my grandma had a passion for gathering all of the children & boiling 15-16 doz. eggs & turning us loose to create & design to our heart's content. Then of course we always hunted the eggs at home & dad loved to hide all of our 8 doz. ... even though we never did always recover a full 8 doz.! What fun memories as kids!!) So tonight I put on my sword & shield and just did it!! We got out all the colors & decorations that would fit on the table & turned the kids loose!! (Our little neighbor friend also joined us, who I think we might as well adopt.) But they all loved it!!

Who could have asked for a busier weekend than this...?
Well, if nothing else - I am hoping for a much more quiet day tomorrow - Easter Sunday!! ;) This is one of my favorite pictures, Christ after he had risen outside the tomb with Mary. I am so grateful for our Savior & for the life he lived & the example he is to each of us. I am also grateful for the opportunity we all have to live again with him someday. Happy Easter Everyone!!
